Amazon Alexa and Your New Ford Vehicle

Getting Amazon Alexa set up in your Ford vehicles like the Ford F-150, the Bronco, or the Ford Mustang Mach-E provides a convenient way to access information, control your smart home devices, and more – all while you're on the go. To ensure a seamless setup process, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Activate FordPass™ Connect

If you've already activated your account, you can skip to Step 2.

• Download the FordPass™ App.
• Add Your Vehicle: After installing the app:
• Turn your vehicle off.
• Tap 'Add Vehicle' on the app.
• Scan your vehicle's VIN or type it in manually.
• Assign a name to your vehicle within the app.
• Tap 'Activate Vehicle' on the app.
• SYNC® Activation:
• Start your vehicle.
• When prompted, tap 'Allow' on the SYNC® screen.
• Accept the Ford Terms and Conditions.

Step 2: Register Alexa Built-In

• On the SYNC 4 screen in your vehicle, tap the Alexa icon.

Step 3: Begin the Setup Process

• On the status information screen, select 'Amazon Alexa'.
• Depending on your SYNC 4 system, choose either “Yes” or “Get Started” to initiate the Alexa setup.

Step 4: Connect to Your Amazon Account

You have two methods to choose from:

4a. QR Scan Code Method:

• A QR code will appear on the SYNC 4 screen.
• Use your mobile device to scan the QR code.
• Sign in to your Amazon account.

OR

4b. Manual Code Method:

• On your preferred device, visit Amazon.com/code.
• Sign in to your Amazon account. Note: If you don’t have an Amazon account, you’ll need to create one. Instructions are provided on the next page.

Step 5: Register Your Device

• Enter the code that appears on the SYNC 4 screen into your Amazon account (from step 4a or 4b).

Step 6: Complete the Registration Process

• Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the registration of Alexa in your vehicle.

Step 7: Enable the Alexa Wake Word (Optional)

• If you'd like to use the Alexa wake word (saying "Alexa" to activate the assistant) on your SYNC 4 screen, select “Yes” when prompted.

And that’s it! Your Ford vehicle is now set up with Amazon Alexa. Enjoy the convenience of hands-free voice commands while on the road. Safe travels!
